About MRC Eye Hospital

MRC EYE HOSPITAL is a prestigious and Charitable Project of Mysore Race Club Charitable Trust. Mysore Race Club Limited celebrated the centenary of its formation in 1991 (1891-1991). The birth of MRC Eye Hospital is a project in commemoration of the centenary celebration of Mysore Race Club Limited under MRC Charitable Trust.

At present, MRC Eye Hospital is a 100 bedded Eye Hospital, situated in one acre plot in Siddartha Nagar, Mysore. It is fully equipped with best of hi-tech instruments. District Blindness Control Society at Mysore, Chamarajanagar, Mandya & Coorg Districts are associated with the Hospital and are funding free cataract and IOL surgeries, performed on the poor patients. So far, we have conducted 1456 Free Eye Screening Camps, attended 11,17,548 out-patients and conducted 79,467 surgeries out of which 45,403 are free surgeries. MRC Eye Hospital has been recognized by National Board of Examination, New Delhi, for training Post-Graduate students for (DNB) and more than 15 eye specialists have been trained here in so far. At present two students are undergoing training for this exam. So far, apart from the Corpus Fund received by MRC Charitable Trust from philanthropic individual donors, International service organizations like Lions Clubs (LCIF) and Rotary Clubs have helped to equip the Hospital with latest high-tech instruments to render quality service to our patients.

Cataract Surgery

Cataract is a disease linked to age. It affects the human lens. The natural human lens of the eye gets cloudy and opaque leading to change in the transparency of the lens affecting your vision. Visual acuity and quality worsens gradually, and may even reach the point of total blindness in the affected eye

Orbit & aduexa

Our comprehensive ophthalmology services provide patients with primary eye care, including medical and surgical management for an array of eye conditions. From general eye exams to state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment to ophthalmic surgery, we are equipped to take care of all eye care needs.

Glaucoma Services​

Glaucoma is a slow progressive irreversible condition of the eye wherein the pressure (IOP) inside the eye may rise causing damage to the Optic nerve of the eye. This is seen as more common in the elderly but can occur at any age group. .

Vitreo Retina and Diabetic Retinopathy Services

Retina is where the vision details are captured and transmitted to the brain for recognition and decoding. Conditions like ageing, diabetes, hypertension, or thyroid can cause partial or total vision loss.
